This installation triggers sound through the act of touching floating eyeballs.“Gaze” is an action that involves both the one who looks and the one who is being looked at—their energy, psychology, and emotional states. A gaze is therefore never one-sided; it is a continuous negotiation, a psychological “advance and retreat” between two parties.
In reality, most gazes carry unease or ill intent, shifting the boundaries between “the one who occupies” and “the one being occupied.” The gazer’s teasing or even unintentional attention can inflict profound psychological harm on the person being gazed at.
The six sound patches (side A) in the work permeate the opposing pair across three layers: action, emotion, and aura. Then, with the seventh patch (side B), all confrontation, emotions, and tensions are “reversed” and “dissolved,” transforming into an ambient pad that fades gently into the space. It symbolizes the moment when the one being gazed at releases self-defense and reconciles with their own sense of self.

This topic matters because it promotes sustainability by reusing waste materials. It also brings new possibilities for public space, making it more playful, interactive, and engaging. And from a design perspective, it blurs the line between furniture and architecture, which opens up new creative opportunities.
This project is about how we can reuse waste materials, recycled metal cans to create interactive public furniture.
We started by studying the sounds produced in factories then focused on the material qualities of metal cans, and then developed this into a design that invites public interaction.
The general public benefits the most, anyone who uses parks, streets, campuses, or cultural spaces. Communities get more sustainable and engaging public furniture. And the environment benefits because we reduce waste and promote recycling.

The inspiration for creating Ephemera came from a senior-year course on mixed-material composition. In class, we explored the transformation of materials into a new visual language. I turned my attention to everyday materials around me, experimenting freely with combinations and pairings. During one casual experiment, I brought together kitchen sink strainers, acrylic sheets, and colorful threads. Surprisingly, the combination of these three materials gave rise to an entirely new form of expression.

Through these experiments, we aimed to redistributepower within Zwolle's city center through interrupting(harmful) habits. We broke habitual patterns by usingcolour, sound, smell, and structure as our guides, allowingthe environment itself to direct us rather than relying onmaps or digital tools. In doing so, we reclaimed agencyover how we navigate and interact with the space, finding new ways to explore and engage with the city

As a famous Buddhist shrine and tourist area in Chongqing, Nanshan Scenic Area enjoys rich cultural and natural resources, attracting many tourists and local residents. Currently, Nanshan Scenic Area has its scenic spots widely distributed and therefore requires a long time to tour, and there is insufficient space to stay or rest in the area.
This project is to build baths in the area for its visitors to mediate, relax and communicate. In east Asia, both baths and meditation originated from Buddhism, pursuing inner peace and purity. Therefore, incorporating the idea of meditation into the space can inspire people’s desire to explore, helping them to relax physically and mentally during their exploration of physical space and the mental world.

As a unique minority group in China, the Bulang
people are now lagging behind in education due
to the combined effects of local ethnic customs,
economic backwardness, and other factors. The
marginality of local teenagers makes it impossible
for them to return to local culture or integrate into
mainstream culture.
This project is to build a teaching center providing basic education for local teenagers, a school that has an educational philosophy suited for them. It would be an undefined and flexible educational space in the community which provides Bulang children with new learning experience through application of knowledge, in order to promote their all-round development.
